Ask Implant Dentist - Dr. Yan Li
– Where did you get comprehensive hands-on training on dental implants?
“I feel lucky that I was selected in well-known General Practice Residency (GPR) program administered at both Coler & Goldwater Speciality Hospital and Bellevue Hospital immediately after getting my D.D.S degree from University of Maryland School of Dentistry. I started my journey of being trained as an implant dentist there”
– Why did you choose this program? How long did you get trained specifically on dental implants?
“I feels more than lucky and very blessed that over 1,000-bed Coler & Goldwater Speciality Hospital, one of the largest government-funded chronic care/adult nursing facilities, provided me the optimal patient pool because the government funded all dental implant procedures for the patients if requested. Personally, I placed over 300 dental implants during my two-year GPR residency. This opportunity can’t be found at other programs.”
– Did you work in other dental implant centers? How many dental implant placements have you completed?
“Yes, I worked at various dental implant centers NYC as implant dentist and completed over 2,000 dental implant placements before I started my own practice in 2013. As of today, I have been very proud to place over 6,000 dental implants.”
