At Cozy Family Dental in New Jersey, our dental care specialists are proud to provide our patients with custom-fit porcelain veneers that are designed to help improve the overall appearance of their teeth.

Veneers consist of ultra-thin, wafer-like shells that are bonded to teeth in order to enhance their appearance. Since they are both incredibly simple and versatile, veneers are becoming popular among more and more patients in Wayne, NJ and the surrounding areas.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to change your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth, changing their color, shape, size, or length. Dental technicians use high-quality dental materials, like tooth-colored composite or porcelain, to create them.

Dental veneers are cosmetic in nature. They can conceal a wide range of aesthetic imperfections, including chips, cracks, gaps, tooth discoloration and more.

Benefits of Dental Veneers

Veneers offer these advantages:

    • Dental Veneers Cosmetically Repair Teeth Simply and Easily:

A dental veneer is made of a thin piece of porcelain that Dr. Yan Li cements onto the front of your teeth. This covers the tooth and improves its appearance. They are custom-made to fit each tooth.

    • Dental Veneers Offer a Natural Appearance:

Porcelain veneers match the natural color of the teeth they are covering. They do not stain easily, making them a great choice for fixing cosmetic problems with your teeth.

At the first appointment, Dr. Yan Li will take impressions of your teeth. The impressions are used to create veneers that will match your natural tooth color and contour.

Once the porcelain veneers are done, she will sculpt each overlay to create a natural-looking smile for you. They are customized to fit your style and facial symmetry. Once they are placed on your teeth, they will look and feel very natural.

    • Dental Veneers are a Quick Cosmetic Repair:

Dental veneers can be a life-changer for those who are not happy with the appearance of their teeth. They can be used to address these types of cosmetic issues: chipped teeth, missing teeth, gaps between teeth, misshapen teeth, discolored or stained teeth.

    • Dental Veneers are Permanent and Durable:

Porcelain veneers are a permanent repair, and they actually resist stains and decay better than natural teeth. The surface of a veneer is non-porous, which helps resist both stains and cavities better than porous enamel. With proper care, veneers can last between 10 and 15 years.

    • Dental Veneers are Easy to Maintain:

Porcelain veneers do not require any special care above normal good oral hygiene and care. Caring for them is exactly the same as taking care of your natural teeth. You still need to brush twice a day and floss at least once daily.

    • Porcelain Veneers Provide a Permanent Tooth Whitening Choice:

Many patients like to get a professional tooth whitening treatment. Veneers are resilient, especially when compared to natural teeth. They are highly stain-resistant, so you won’t need to get them whitened regularly. Some people prefer to combine dental veneers with dental crowns because the two procedures can offer stunning results.

    • They Require Very Little Enamel Removal:

Placing dental veneers requires only a super thin layer of enamel to be removed. The removal of a tiny bit of enamel is necessary for the veneer to bond on the tooth properly. Remember that the thin shell is placed on just the front of a tooth whereas dental crowns and bridges have to be placed over one or more teeth.

Our Dental Veneers Process

Our clinic takes a standard application requiring two separate visits to the patients in Wayne, NJ and the surrounding areas.

The process is started by shaving off some of the enamel of the tooth in order to accommodate for the space that the veneer will occupy. Next, impressions of the tooth are taken in order to determine the best fit and color possible. This information makes it possible to create a personalized veneer in a special dental laboratory. The session concludes with the patient being fitted with a temporary restoration that is designed to last until their custom-fitted veneer is completed.

Once the patient’s custom veneer is ready, they will return for the second half of the procedure. The designated tooth is cleaned and treated with etching gel so that the veneer can be attached properly. Using a special adhesive agent, the veneer is carefully applied to the tooth for a secure fit. After the process is completed, the dental care specialist will provide the patient with instructions on how to care for the newly-installed veneer.
